Marc Jacobs was born on the 9th of April in 1963 in New York City. Marc's life was completely altered following the death of his father when he was seven, and after struggling with this he chose to move in with his grandmother. He stayed focused on the love for fashion and worked hard to prepare his portfolio and successfully enter the prestigious Parsons School of Design. His first role out of education was at Perry Ellis, then with his creative collaborator Robert Duffy, Marc created Marc Jacobs international in 1984. The Marc Jacobs brand was, and is, based on two very simple concepts: a love of fashion and a commitment to quality.
This perfect balance between passion and quality inspired Marc to continuously work between both tradition and innovation allowing his exuberant creativity to blaze a new path within the fashion industry. Marc Jacobs very quickly became a driving force in the industry and went on to become the creative director for Louis Vuitton from 1997 to 2014, he was revered as a true powerhouse in the fashion world repositioning Louis Vuitton as a luxury fashion brand rather than a luxury luggage brand.
Marc Jacobs remains known for his passionate creativity, rebellious nature, and unpredictable spirit, all while remaining authentic. These attributes can be seen within every eyewear collection which juxtaposes conventional traditions with the most innovative techniques and quality. Marc Jacobs glasses can be characterised by sophisticated and slightly retro shapes that come together to create a remarkably glamorous pair of glasses.
