Brand Spotlight: Face A Face

Let's talk Face A Face...

Here at Pretavoir we like to shine a spotlight on brands by showcasing their stories, stand out pieces and their origins to give you further insight into who they are. This time it’s the turn of French contemporary based brand, Face A Face.

The popular and contemporary eyewear brand was established by designers Pascal Jaulent, Nadine Roth and Alyson Magee. Pascal loved design, and had began his career in urban planning, where he honed and built on his creative skills in architecture. Once becoming General manager of Lunettes Lafont Paris, he took on the challenge of design and styles in the eyewear industry. Launching in 1995 in Paris, Nadine, Pascal and Alyson began what they call the ‘non-conformist’ eyewear revolution.

Both optical and sunglasses are available in different shapes, styles and textures. If you explore the brand further, you will see just how much choice you have. Inspired by modern art, architecture and colour, the designers are keen to break the mould on what you may think can be achieved in looks in designer eyewear.

Face A Face founder

The design team still creates both men and womens frames in Paris. But, depending on the craftsmanship required they may manufacture in either France, Italy or Japan.

In 2014, Face A Face joined Design Eyewear Group, and Pascal became the Chief Creative Office for all of the brands within that group.

Face A Face

What struck the Pretavoir team about the looks they produce is how bold, eye-catching, and playful they can be. It can sound very cliché at times, but there really is something there for every face shape. Or a pair to accommodate whatever feeling or mood you are going for. If you love to be daring, inspired by colour, or are more taken with frames that carry full personality and uniqueness, this brand has it all.

New Collections

This leading brand continues to grow and drive in style and feature design. The collections they launch strike the perfect balance between design, quality and function. As they bring out new pieces each year, we thought it would be worth noting their newest collection stocked by us.

NEW PRODUCTS:

 Stand Out Range – BOCCA

This range is four years old and has no intention of stopping or slowing down. If anything, it's evolving stronger than ever. According to research the whole Bocca range was born from a bet!!

The brief was given from the design team:

‘How can you combine the female insolence permeating Dalis work with the saucy lips of Hollywood actress Mae West?’ – Bocca was born…

The frames are bold, yet feminine, with a touch of provocative while being chic.

Unique to the core, the Bocca Dreams are Japanese manufactures. They display an elegant and feminine temple style, with the tips of the legs crafted into stylish and colourful footwear. If you pay close attention to the detailing, you shall notice ballet shoes, heels, and even riding boots. The frames are crisp and come in many gorgeous colours with that vibrant twist you would certainly expect.

As Pascal has said:

"FACE A FACE is more than just a brand. It's a reflection of the best the world has to offer. Each frame is a handcrafted work of art. There is luxury in every detail. And each new collection is evolution by cultural selection. It's about audacity and aesthetic frontiers. It's style and attitude. And after a quarter of a century, FACE A FACE is still at the cutting edge."
