The 52nd Annual American Music Awards took over the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 25 May 2026, celebrating another huge year in music, celebrity culture, and pop spectacle. Queen Latifah returned to host the ceremony 31 years after first co-hosting the AMAs in 1995, while Taylor Swift led this year’s nominations with eight.

The 2026 edition also introduced twelve brand-new categories, including Song of the Summer — awarded to BTS for their hit Swim— and Breakthrough R&B Artist, won by Leon Thomas III. Elsewhere, Karol G received the International Artist Award of Excellence, Billy Idol was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Darius Rucker received the Veterans Voice Award.

The evening delivered performances from Katseye, Teddy Swims, New Kids On The Block, and a surprise Pussycat Dolls reunion featuring Busta Rhymes, but naturally, our attention was equally drawn towards the eyewear. Between rehearsals, arrivals, and onstage appearances, the 2026 American Music Awards offered plenty of standout luxury sunglasses moments.

Maluma wore Cutler and Gross Sun Graham CGSN GR14 03 sunglasses in dark grey.

 During rehearsals, the Colombian superstar was also spotted in the new Loewe Slim LW40192U 30N aviator sunglasses from Spring/Summer 2026, although unfortunately the lighting did little justice to highlight the frame properly.

Teddy Swims wore Ray-Ban RB3832 002/71 sunglasses featuring grey gradient lenses.

John Legend opted for gold Tom Ford Clark FT0823 aviators with brown gradient lenses. This Tom Ford style has unfortunately been discontinued.

J-Hope of BTS, finally making an awards appearance and performance following the group’s four-year hiatus (be sure to check our BTS blog for their latest update), wore the new Balenciaga BB0451SA rimless oval sunglasses. This highly anticipated style is coming soon to Pretavoir.

The OG American boy band New Kids On The Block also delivered major eyewear moments throughout the evening.

During arrivals, Joey McIntyre wore Celine Metal Triomphe CL40293U 30N sunglasses.

While Donnie Wahlberg opted for black Tom Ford Ezra TF1075 sunglasses featuring yellow photochromic lenses, now sold out.

However, we still have the Tom Ford Ezra TF1075 available in transparent grey with pink mirror lenses, last piece remaining!

Sombr is a keeper. Wherever he goes, whatever he wears, and even after earning seven AMAs nominations and taking home Best Breakthrough Rock/Alternative Artist, Best Rock/Alternative Song, and Best Rock/Alternative Album, he remains loyal to his black Oliver Peoples Oliver Sun OV5393SU 1492/P1 sunglasses with green G-15 polarised lenses.

Singer-songwriter Darius Rucker, who was honoured with the Veterans Voice Award, wore matte black Ray-Ban Meta Headliner Gen 2 RW4013 601S/SB Smart Glasses to the awarding ceremony.

Ludacris, who presented the Song of the Summer award won by BTS, wore the celebrity-favourite Tom Ford Bronson TF1044 52S sunglasses in dark tortoiseshell with red lenses.

Busta Rhymes, who performed onstage alongside the Pussycat Dolls (“Don’t Cha?” indeed), opted for black Bottega Veneta BV1345S sunglasses from the Fall/Winter 2024 collection.

The black colourway has unfortunately been discontinued; however, for Spring/Summer 2026, this best-selling aviator returns in a new military green colourway featuring grey lenses, available in stock in very limited quantities.

Hacks actor Paul W. Downs, who presented Best Rock/Alternative Album, wore black Dior DMoon B2I 10A0 sunglasses. The actor has remained notably loyal to Dior eyewear over recent months and we are certainly looking forward to seeing which styles he embraces next!

Anthony Ramos, who presented the Breakthrough R&B Artist award, opted for gunmetal Persol 1023S oval sunglasses with brown lenses.

Meanwhile, Breakthrough R&B Artist winner Leon Thomas III wore AMIRI Fairfax sunglasses, perfectly complementing his polished contemporary style.

Jason Derulo, who presented Song of the Year award, wore a visor sunglasses from Locs.
