The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards arrived in Los Angeles on 14 September, bringing television's biggest names together for an evening of major wins, memorable moments and plenty of red carpet glamour. Hosted by Mariska Hargitay at the Peacock Theater, this year's ceremony made history in more ways than one, with Matthew Rhys becoming the first performer to win lead acting Emmys across drama, comedy and limited series after taking home two trophies on the night.

Apple TV+'s Widow's Bay was the night's record breaker, collecting 14 Emmys across the season, including Outstanding Comedy Series, while The Pitt claimed Outstanding Drama Series for the second consecutive year and Hacks star Jean Smart secured another landmark acting win. Alongside the awards, the ceremony paid tribute to beloved industry figures including Dolly Parton, Catherine O'Hara and Rob Reiner, adding an emotional note to an already memorable evening.

But, as ever, the Emmys were about more than the trophies. The red carpet brought together a stellar cast of actors, presenters and television favourites, each bringing their own interpretation of awards-season style. From the red carpet arrivals to candid moments throughout the evening, we've rounded up the celebrity eyewear that caught our eye at the 2026 Emmys.

Canadian celebrity chef turned actor Matty Matheson, nominated as an executive producer for FX/Hulu’s hit series The Bear in the Outstanding Comedy Series category, walked the Emmys red carpet wearing black Bottega Veneta BV1431S 001 sunglasses in a clubmaster cat-eye shape.

Colman Domingo, opting for black Brunello Cucinelli BC4026S Alke sunglasses with light blue lenses, attended as a highly celebrated double nominee across completely different genres. He was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Danny in Netflix's The Four Seasons and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for reprising his role as Ali in the final season of HBO’s Euphoria.

Brett Goldstein, nominated for both Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Comedy Series as executive producer and co-creator of Shrinking, in which he stars as Louis, wore black Prada D11S sunglasses.

Law Roach, the stylist behind many of Zendaya’s recent looks, including the crystal embellished Prada gown she wore for tonight’s Emmys, opted for an angular aviator frame from 12PM.

First-time Emmy nominee Joy Sunday, whom you may recognise from Wednesday, competed in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category as Detective Jodie Plumb in DTF St. Louis. She did not wear eyewear on the red carpet, instead putting on the Miu Miu C01S sunglasses at the HBO Max Post-Emmy Reception. This new style is arriving this September, so stay tuned!

Singer, songwriter and producer Babyface attended the 2026 Emmys as a high-profile guest, later appearing at the Netflix Post-Emmy celebration wearing black Saint Laurent SL 628 001 sunglasses.
