GUESS Breast Cancer Charity Capsule Collection

GUESS Breast Cancer Charity Capsule Collection

To celebrate the international breast cancer awareness month in October, GUESS & Marcolin have partnered to release a small eyewear capsule collection. Together they will be donating money to the 'Get In Touch Foundation' and releasing two limited edition frames which come with their own dedicated pink packaging.

The partnership between GUESS, Marcolin and Get In Touch has been running for six years and together they have developed a small eyewear capsule collection consisting of two limited edition frames [one optical and one sun]. Both are created with pink coloured acetates, glitter embellishments and a breast cancer ribbon which pays tribute to those who have fought or are fighting against breast cancer.

Marcolin and Guess Eyewear make a donation to The Get In Touch Foundation in order to help fund the incredible work of the foundation who aim to educate people of all ages on how to “get in touch” with their bodies to raise awareness about breast health.

Coming in an exclusive pink case, the Get In Touch Breast Cancer Awareness Capsule Collection the new square acetate sunglasses and glasses come with a three dimensional triangle metal temple design with pink a glitter texture. The frame is then finished with acetate temple tips featuring both the GUESS logo & Breast Cancer metal ribbon hardware.

The Get In Touch foundation was started in February 2004 by Mary Ann Wasil with the main aim of arming and equipping families with information to cope and understand cancer diagnosis and the experiences attached.

Mary Ann Wasil found a lump in her left breast and from that moment she decided to dedicate her life to the work of the Get In Touch foundation. Being a mother of three, she felt it was important for her children to have the information they needed to be informed, and strong, just like she was. She decided to sit her two daughters down and teach them how to do a self-examination for any signs of breast cancer. This made her wonder if all young girls were learning this potentially life-saving skill and when she started to look into this she realised there was not much information available. Collaborating with the medical professionals that had helped her through her diagnosis, Mary Ann Wasil, put together the ‘Daisy Wheel’ in order to teach girls globally about their own breast health.

Today the Get In Touch Foundation is run by Betsy Nilan, daughter of Mary Ann Wasil. She was just thirteen when her mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer and at the age of seventeen Betsy joined the board to assist her mother's work. In 2016, Mary Ann Wasil lost her battle with breast cancer after having a stage-four metastatic recurrence, Betsy stood up as president. She continues to carry her mother’s mission with passion and enthusiasm continuing to save lives through the work of the foundation.

The Marcolin Group proudly support and continue to renew their commitment to support breast cancer awareness by partnering with the non-profit along with GUESS.

From October 2020, you will be able to show support for The Get In Touch Foundation and their important mission of educating women of all ages to get in touch with their bodies through the use of safe, non-invasive tools for breast self-exams, such as their Daisy Wheel.

Au revoir,
PRET A VOIR
