Happy 10-Year Anniversary to GLCO! Garrett Leight California Optical launched in 2010 inspired by his father – Founder and Creative Director of iconic eyewear brand, Oliver Peoples – and the culture and creativity of his California upbringing on Venice Beach.
Garrett Leight has pioneered a new generation within the eyewear market with his hyper-California brand aesthetic and 2020’s X Collection is a celebration of his work over the last decade. These 10th anniversary re-designs are fresh takes on the GLCO favourites such as the Hampton X and the Brooks X.
Garrett Leight glasses are expertly designed with truly exquisite details, and constructed with the utmost technical precision. Each pair of GLCO Glasses are hand finished in China with materials sourced from all over the world such as Japan, Italy and Germany. Each set of frames display a perfect balance of classic and contemporary influences: quietly unexpected, undeniably beautiful, and completely timeless.
The Hampton was the very first frame ever designed by Garrett Leight, and it continues to be one of the brand’s most popular frames. Named after a street in his hometown in Venice Beach, the Garrett Leight Hampton is a modern take on the classic P3 acetate frame. The Hampton X has been redesigned with a thicker acetate construction with a special plaque inspired by the GLCO logo. The classic shape continues to lend itself to that timeless California-cool aesthetic while utilising innovative construction and contemporary acetates.
Also part of the original California Optics collection, the Brooks are a square-shaped frame that celebrates the classic proportions with unique design details such as the recognisable keyhole bridge. Again, the X celebrates the original Brooks design but with a thicker acetate infusing the classic facade with an all new charm. Coming with a limited-edition soft case in the signature GLCO orange, your eyewear is protected by the case with a special inscription on the inside temples saying cheers to ‘Ten Years of Vision’.
