Love Island Sunglasses: Get the Look
It’s that time of year again, winter Love Island is back and while you remain engrossed in each episode, we are here to do the nitty gritty work and identify your favourite winter Love Island sunglasses so far. But, before we talk about the eyewear that we have noticed your favourite islanders sporting so far on the first 2023 instalment of Love Island let’s have a quick recap.
Love Island premiered on Monday the 16th of January, and the majority of the UK would have been waiting apprehensively for 9pm to watch the drama begin. Love Island is the most-watched TV show in the UK, and each year (since 2015) we have seen it grow increasingly in popularity. Love Island has even become an international phenomenon and expanded to locations such as the USA and Australia! However, the show in general has mixed reviews from the British public. Love Island has faced controversy each year for several reasons. The most prominent is that it is believed to be detrimental to the contestant's mental health when they are finally exposed to the harsh online opinions of the British public. This is believed to be the reason for several deaths of former contestants. There is also the frenzy around entering the show simply as a claim to fame. With the chance of walking straight into the world of influencing at the fingertips of the participants, entering the show is simply an offer that they can’t turn down. This leaves the public questioning if they are actually on the show to find love, or simply just Z-list fame.
What do we think of this year's islanders? Who is playing a game, and who is there to find a real connection?
So far, we have watched ten OG contestants awkwardly grace our screens and couple up, several bombshells shake up the villa, a few tricky love triangles, some 'genuine relationships', arguments galore, surprising evictions, and some hilarious one-liners from Farmer Will. It has all been happening on the winter series this year!
The hype and popularity surrounding the show has seen brand endorsements flying into the villa left right and centre! In the last few years, we have seen the Love Island sunglasses collaboration with QUAY take over our screens. However, two weeks in, we noticed that the brand is not as prominent in this year's series. Could that be anything to do with ITV’s new eBay partnership, who knows? However, if QUAY isn’t taking over our screens this year, what brands are!? Ultra-glam Tanyel has been seen strutting around the villa in none other than a pair of chic gold frame Dior's. Unfortunately, we do not stock this exact pair & they happen to be sold out on Dior. Kai, much like Ron, seems to be a huge fan of Ray-Ban shades. So far this series we have noticed him sporting two styles from the eyewear giants.
Ray-ban could be the new love island sunglasses favourites amongst the boys! While we don't have the exact pair he is wearing below in stock (at the moment) so we have attached a very similar pair from this brand.
When the 90s party graced our screens we seen some OTT outfits. The islanders truly put on a show on the outfit front. However, Jessie and Tanya certainly caught our eyes as they accessorised their funky 90s fits with a pair of silver space shades. Get the OG Balenciaga version worn by A-listers such as Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. This style of eyewear has skyrocketed in popularity since its release!
When Tom's not causing drama between all of the girls in the villa, he is often seen minding his own business or working out in the gym wearing a pair of Oliver People's shades.
New girl Samie took everyone in the villa by surprise when she touched down in South Africa. However, the only thing that took us by surprise were the classic octagonal Ray-Ban shades that she's been flaunting. A popular favourite perfect for summer!
We have also noticed Samie regularly wearing these caramel tortoise coloured Prada sunnies - super stylish!
Casa Amor bombshell Martin certainly hasn't had an easy time in the villa. However, his style is always in check with super sleek sunnies.
Carl Fogarty's daughter, Claudia, has merged nicely into the villa, and we are a huge fan of her fashion sense, especially her shades!
