Givenchy Glasses

Givenchy glasses are elegant, sensual and romantic paying impeccable homage to the styles that characterizes the Givenchy Maison. Hubert de Givenchy, born in 1927, his family's wealthy social status developed from his father's side in the 18th Century, and artistic professions ran through his mother's family. Givenchy lost his father in 1930 and therefore was raised largely by his mother and maternal grandmother. It was from his Grandmother from whom he inherited his passion for fabrics. With this newfound passion, Givenchy left his hometown at the age of 17. He settled in Paris where he studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts and apprenticed at many courtier houses. These included such houses as Robert Piguet, Lucien Lelong and Elsa Schiaparelli. The Givenchy brand launched a women's ready-to-wear collection in 1952 and a menswear line in 1969.

Givenchy cited Audrey Hepburn as his muse after meeting on the set of Sabrina - he designed the notorious  "little black dress" Audrey Hepburn wore in 1961's Breakfast at Tiffany's. Givenchy also dressed more famous faces of the time such as Jackie O and Grace Kelly. These namesake influencers can still be seen in the work of the Givenchy brand: casual chic, aristocratic elegance and femininity. From 2005 to 2017, Riccardo Tisci cultivated the brand’s image of street style sticking to the classic Givenchy values he added his own edgy and romantic aesthetic which remains today. In 2017, Givenchy announced Clare Waight Keller as its new artistic director. She marks the first female lead designer of the brand.

Pure, almost square lines provide a simplistic yet striking shape that matches any outfit - Givenchy eyewear aims to show the true essence of those who wear them.
