Puma Glasses are designed for men and women and offer a curated collection of timeless and classic frame shapes. Born from sibling rivalry in 1948, PUMA, is the world’s third-largest sportswear brand. Founded by Rudolf Dassler, PUMA is known for its world-class development in sportswear. Starting in sporting apparel with his brother Adolf Dassler, the pair established the company ‘Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik’ (English translation: Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory) which received marvellous reviews being the chosen footwear of the German athletes competing in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. The ‘Dassler Spikes’ were worn by American athlete Jesse Owens who won four gold medals at the Olympic Games in 1936 Berlin however the brothers could no longer work together so Rudfolf created PUMA and Adi went on to found Adidas a year later in 1949.
Puma’s first football boot was called ‘The Atom’ and the brand’s first major contribution to the football world was recognised in 1952 when Puma released the ‘Super Atom’ - the very first football boot with screw-in studs. Puma continued to develop and enhance their designs which garnered them international glory when the Brazilian football team won the 1958 World Cup wearing Puma shoes. Later, in the 1960s, Puma became famous for their ground-breaking production technique of ‘vulcanization’ which bonds the sole and shaft of a shoe together. This enhancement allowed many athletes to optimize their performances therefore Puma received support from famous sports stars of the time such as Pelé. From the 70s until today, Puma received a lot of fame as athletes sporting Puma products continued to successfully win their games and soon celebrities started endorsing the sportswear brand within the fashion world such as Rhianna, BTS and Kylie Jenner.
Working with vibrant colours and unexpected details, Puma Glasses remains fashion-forward in their offering of true style and functionality. Staying true to their sportswear traditions, PUMA eyewear is constructed with dynamic metals including titanium and aluminum, injection-molded plastic and features such rubberized elements such as temple tips to offer optimal comfort.
