Mykita is a German eyewear brand that combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. The company was founded in 2003 by Dirk Schaffrath and Moritz Krueger, who wanted to create a new kind of stylish and functional eyewear. The name stemmed from where they set up their business - former children’s daycare called ‘Kita’. From this, the name has been the foundation for their culture and practices – playful and full of curiosity and wonder.
The frames are made from high-quality materials, and everything is manufactured in-house. As no other manufacturers could make their designs the way Mykita wanted, they decided to do it themselves in Berlin. They have continuously pushed the boundaries of craftsmanship abilities and new technologies. The manufacturing process is highly automated, but each frame is still finished by hand. This ensures that every pair of Mykita glasses or sunglasses is of the highest quality.
