AKONI Orion AKX 410 A

This square Akoni optical comes in a crystal black frame.

Building upon the distinctly rebel-meets-intellectual vibe of our popular Gemini design, Akoni’s new Orion frame pairs a rounded silhouette with intriguing embellishments resulting from innovative techniques. The precise placement of the brand’s one-of-a-kind side shields allows for complementary color plays on both the front and back sides of the acetate frames. Akoni signature replication of the fine detailing found in luxury accessories can be seen in the front-of-temple, tactile knurlings patterns, inspired by the crowns of luxury watches — and crafted in acetate, for the first time. This frame, with its mix of classic and cutting-edge inspirations, is also a great option for those who wish to conceal thicker prescription lenses.

About Akoni:

Inspired by a story that has been told by many visionaries, a story taught to our scholars, and a story that unveiled our intrepid pioneers and astronomers. Akoni turned to the place where it all began. Where our sense of curiosity was born, and our drive to reach the boundary of human capability was discovered to be infinite. Deceptively elegant, close examination of every Akoni style reveals intricate and distinctive detailing that is the hallmark of the brand.

Inspired by luxury wristwatches, writing instruments, and other precious heirlooms that are handed down from generation to generation, the Akoni Eyewear Collection incorporates the latest advances in materials, craftsmanship, and technology to ensure the recognizable presence of Akoni’s intelligent luxury DNA. Akoni glasses are fabricated on fine craftsmanship alongside high-quality Japanese materials. This eyewear range is impeccable, featuring the finest designs and art displayed within their frame styles and immense quality. When you view a pair of Akoni glasses or sunglasses, immediately you can notice the class and luxury held within. However, it isn't until you closely view them first-hand that you realise the intricacy and work involved in each pair. For example, the titanium of the temples is the same titanium that can be found on the world's finest writing instruments.

After noting that every face shape is different, Akoni aims to ensure that their eyewear range is tailored to each customer and their face shape. Offering adjustable temples allow the utmost precision for each client. Using Japanese acetate ensures that frames are reliable and long-lasting - meaning that Akoni customers should never fear wearing their glasses every day. With limited, and unnecessary, detailing on designs, quality and innovation are at the core of the brand.

The brand's design team are known to often devise solutions to enhance the design of their products. This can range from changes to the smallest screws to entirely new frame propositions - supporting the basis of the brand's foundations built on innovation. Rosario Toscano and Salma Rachid, the founders of the eyewear company, launched the brand in 2019 with a joint goal of evolving the eyewear market. Toscano alone brought around 20 years of industry experience to the brand name. Together, they decided to base Akoni's manufacturing headquarters in Japan due to the extensive amount of skilled producers and artisans available to them. The finest Japanese materials, which are both durable and sustainable, are the core of creating the everlasting Akoni Eyewear Collection.
