Ba-dee-ya, dancin’ in September!

After a relatively calm August calendar (albeit a very hot one), September arrived with celebrities back on the move from the very first day. As the back-to-school month gets underway, so does one of the busiest periods in the celebrity calendar, with sport, cinema, music and fashion all competing for the spotlight.

The month begins with the US Open and Venice Film Festival, while the weekends of September bring the F1 Italian, Spanish and Azerbaijan Grands Prix, followed by two more major film festivals in Telluride, Colorado and Toronto. Missing the glamour of the red carpet? The Emmy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards are here to keep things interesting. And, of course, September means fashion month, as the industry moves from New York Fashion Week to London, Milan and Paris to unveil the Spring/Summer 2027 collections. As summer closes its chapter and autumn falls, September is certainly not short on celebrity style moments. Damn, it’s a busy month!

And where there are celebrities, there are sunglasses. From red carpets and film premieres to tennis stands, fashion week front rows and Formula 1 paddocks, September has already delivered plenty of eyewear worth keeping an eye on. Here are some of our favourite celebrity sunglasses sightings from the month so far.

Week 1

Kylie Minogue graced the cover of Vogue Australia in transparent olive green CHANEL 5565 1742/3 oval sunglasses, giving the September issue a suitably stylish start.

Another September issue worth mentioning: Italian F1 racer Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who is currently leading the championship standings, features in GQ Sports. He is wearing black Gucci GG2274S 001 shield sunglasses, newly arrived as part of Pretavoir’s Fall/Winter 2026 drop.

The new war drama Pressure premiered in London on 1 September.

Lead actor Damian Lewis in attendance wearing Ray-Ban Aviator RB 3025 W3277 sunglasses with silver mirror lenses.

At the world premiere in London on 2 September, lead actor Theo James, who reprises his role as Eddie Halstead, wore a new Persol frame that we are hoping to identify soon... and, hopefully, see arrive for Fall/Winter 2026.

Michele Morrone, joining the star-studded ensemble of The Gentlemen Season 2 as Cico Maldini, attended the premiere wearing yellow tortoise Dolce&Gabbana DG4496 3330/71 sunglasses with green lenses.

Celine Dion, who returned to the spotlight following her Paris residency and several high-profile appearances in late August, was spotted on 3 September wearing tortoise Givenchy Bold GV40128I sunglasses.

The 53rd Telluride Film Festival took place from 4 to 7 September, bringing more than 60 feature films, short films and revival programmes to the Colorado mountain town, alongside Tributes, conversations, panels and other festivities.

Rami Malek attended the festival’s opening day to present The Man I Love, the new drama in which he stars, wearing black Saint Laurent Sun SL 462 Sulpice 001 sunglasses.

Week 2

September is birthday month for most Virgos out there, and one of the most loved is the one and only Queen B... Beyoncé!

After Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger premiered during the Venice Film Festival, brothers Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher jetted to London for the documentary’s UK premiere on 7 September.

Crime drama series MobLand returns for Season 2, with its premiere held in London on 10 September.

Lead actor Pierce Brosnan, reprising his role as Conrad Harrigan, walked the red carpet at the premiere wearing the black Oliver Peoples x Khaite 1978RX frame, which is unfortunately exclusive to Oliver Peoples.

The Toronto International Film Festival, widely known as TIFF, returns from 10 to 20 September 2026.

Week 3

Salma Hayek Pinault was spotted strolling around New York City on Monday, 14 September, wearing black Gucci GG2170S 001 sunglasses.

She was scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York to promote her new war drama film, Without Blood, which was written and directed by Angelina Jolie.

Also on 14 September, The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards took place Los Angeles.

Actress Nia Long was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 16 September.

During the heartfelt ceremony, Nia Long was spotted wearing black Celine 3 Dots CL40310U 01A sunglasses.

Estelle Swaray, widely known simply as Estelle (yes, the “American Boy” singer), attended Nia Long’s Hollywood Walk of Fame honouring ceremony wearing tortoise Gucci GG2153S 002 sunglasses, featuring brown lenses and gold logo lettering.

Over in London, Sienna Miller was seen arriving at The Corinthia Hotel on 16 September for a press junket promoting the new series War, in which she stars.

Kim Kardashian was spotted in Paris on 17 September, attending a meeting with Christian Louboutin at noon before heading to Celine Dion's concert later that evening.

Week 4

The San Sebastián Film Festival returned to Spain for its 74th edition from 18 to 26 September 2026.

Brad Pitt opened the week by attending the festival's third day for the premiere of his new survival thriller, Heart of the Beast, in which he stars and serves as co-producer. Known for his penchant for vintage aviators, we were thrilled to see him opting for the striped Prada PR C05S 23G70G sunglasses at the San Sebastián Film Festival.

Naomi Watts was also present at the San Sebastián Film Festival, where she received the Donostia Award, the festival's highest lifetime achievement honour, while also promoting her new film, The Housewife.
