Ba-dee-ya, dancin’ in September!

After a relatively calm August calendar (albeit a very hot one), September arrived with celebrities back on the move from the very first day. As the back-to-school month gets underway, so does one of the busiest periods in the celebrity calendar, with sport, cinema, music and fashion all competing for the spotlight.

The month begins with the US Open and Venice Film Festival, while the weekends of September bring the F1 Italian, Spanish and Azerbaijan Grands Prix, followed by two more major film festivals in Telluride, Colorado and Toronto. Missing the glamour of the red carpet? The Emmy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards are here to keep things interesting. And, of course, September means fashion month, as the industry moves from New York to London, Milan and Paris to unveil the Spring/Summer 2027 collections. As summer closes its chapter and autumn falls, September is certainly not short on celebrity style moments. Damn, it’s a busy month!

And where there are celebrities, there are sunglasses. From red carpets and film premieres to tennis stands, fashion week front rows and Formula 1 paddocks, September has already delivered plenty of eyewear worth keeping an eye on. Here are some of our favourite celebrity sunglasses sightings from the month so far.

Week 1

Kylie Minogue graced the cover of Vogue Australia in transparent olive green CHANEL 5565 1742/3 oval sunglasses, giving the September issue a suitably stylish start.

The new war drama Pressure premiered in London on 1 September.

Lead actor Damian Lewis in attendance wearing Ray-Ban Aviator RB 3025 W3277 sunglasses with silver mirror lenses.

His Pressure co-star Brendan Fraser opted for tortoise Persol 0714 Folding 24/31 sunglasses, a timeless frame for gentlemen with style.

At the world premiere in London on 2 September, lead actor Theo James, who reprises his role as Eddie Halstead, wore a new Persol frame that we are hoping to identify soon... and, hopefully, see arrive for Fall/Winter 2026.

Michele Morrone, joining the star-studded ensemble of The Gentlemen Season 2 as Cico Maldini, attended the premiere wearing yellow tortoise Dolce&Gabbana DG4496 3330/71 sunglasses with green lenses.

Celine Dion, who returned to the spotlight following her Paris residency and several high-profile appearances in late August, was spotted on 3 September wearing tortoise Givenchy Bold GV40128I sunglasses.

The 53rd Telluride Film Festival took place from 4 to 7 September, bringing more than 60 feature films, short films and revival programmes to the Colorado mountain town, alongside Tributes, conversations, panels and other festivities.

Rami Malek attended the festival’s opening day to present The Man I Love, the new drama in which he stars, wearing black Saint Laurent Sun SL 462 Sulpice 001 sunglasses.

Week 2

September is birthday month for most Virgos out there, and one of the most loved is the one and only Queen B... Beyoncé!

After Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger premiered during the Venice Film Festival, brothers Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher jetted to London for the documentary’s UK premiere on 7 September.
